The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948)

"Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges!"

John Huston's classic story of greed and madness has Humphrey Bogart in one of his best roles as the bum Dobbs, Tim Holt as his nice guy partner Curtin and Walter Huston as the original dancing prospector Howard.
Whilst down and out in small town Mexico Dobbs and Curtin listen to Howards stories of striking it rich. After unexpectedly coming into some money they decide to try their luck, buy some tools and head off into the bandit filled mountains in search of gold. It's not long before Dobbs true paranoia starts to show and when a stranger follows Curtin back to camp a chain of events is started that will lead to disaster.
This is Huston, who has a cameo as one of the guys Bogy asks for change, and Bogart at their best and who wouldn't love Walter Huston in anything.
The constant talk of tigers does remind me a little of Monty Python though.
